Monica Walker was the co-founder, President, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Holland Capital Management for 26 years, a prominent minority and women owned Chicago money management firm that managed more than $2.5 billion in assets (primarily for pension funds and other institutions) until the firm closed in 2017. Ms. Walker was responsible for the firm’s portfolio strategy and execution.

Ms. Walker’s co-founder Lou Holland retired in 2008 and passed away in 2016. After Mr. Holland’s death, Ms. Walker established the Lou Holland Scholarship Fund at The Chicago Community Trust, in order support African American students from Chicago majoring in finance, accounting and/or economics – with the hope of encouraging more minorities to choose a career in financial services.
