Karen and her husband Jim make grants to end global poverty and promote health access primarily in Haiti via their donor-advised fund at The Boston Foundation. Karen co-founded and chairs the Board of New England International Donors (NEID), a peer-to-peer learning hub for global philanthropists and grantmakers, as well as serves on the Boards of the Haiti Development Institute (formerly the Haiti Fund at the Boston Foundation), MCE Social Capital, and the Millennium Campus Network.  She also participates on the Advisory Boards of the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti and the Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University, plus the Leadership Council of Oxfam America.  Karen holds a B.A. in Political Science from Wellesley College and an M.Div. from Andover Newton Theological School.  Karen and Jim are parents of four young adult children in Essex and Boston, MA.
