So, What Is Passing Gear Philanthropy, Anyway… and what can it do for your foundation?

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Inspired by Paul Ylvisaker’s notion of philanthropy as society’s “passing gear” and informed by the concept of “reflective practice” as developed by Donald A. Schön, Passing Gear Philanthropy is grounded in the belief that to move wisely into the future requires deep understanding of our past and present, with strategic resource choices grounded in the history and needs of the communities you serve. But what does it look like in action? And how can you lead the charge in your community to cultivate and unleash more of this approach?

Join this informal conversation with the founder of Passing Gear Philanthropy and funders who have adopted this approach to learn what it looks like in action and how you can cultivate these strategies.
