A growing body of research indicates that the best time to start engaging children on race is at a very young age, as their biases start to emerge but before those biases have become entrenched. Consider that by the time children enter kindergarten, most harbor biases of their own. That said, we also have promising insights into how to recognize and challenge the biases young people develop, and that we, their parents and caregivers, also have. Join the co-founder of EmbraceRace for a presentation and conversation that considers some of the evidence for racial bias and steps we can take to push back against it - in our children and ourselves.
